Cuban-born designer Maite Granda creates luxurious interiors that whet the appetite with color and texture. Maite left her country at an early age and moved to Madrid, where the Spanish culture and mix of modernism developed her passion for style and design. Her style is elegant and modern while maintaining a zen balance of design and esthetic.
She identifies with her Miami Showhouse space, the kitchen in the Sausage Tree Cottage, not only because she will use colors that are part of her label, such as white, black, red, aqua and blue, but mostly because it allows her to create from another angle and perspective. At The Kampong, she believes that "you have the power to immerse yourself in their gardens, flowers and trees from all over the world." She continues, "I admit I fell in love at first sight with the retro style cottage kitchen I'm working on, its authenticity from another era inspired me. It's a pleasure to work with the Junior League's Miami Showhouse and be part of their team."
